Education
Keeping children safe is one of the most important things we do as parents, educators or other caring adults. To do this, we must equip children with the knowledge and skills to:
-
Differentiate when they feel good or bad about a situation
-
Respect the right for everyone to feel safe
-
Recognise when they feel unsafe or unsure
-
Recognise and identify what parts of the body are private
-
It's ok to say no if you feel unsafe or feel unsure
-
Talk about anything and even if they think it's yucky
-
Identify a safe network of people to talk to
The Australian National Curriculum also necessitates that children should be taught how to keep safe and respect others.
Bravehearts has a team of teachers, psychologists, counsellors and criminologist whom contribute to the development of our resources. The organisation also engages with key stakeholders at a State and Federal level.
